Please Stop Pushing me

It has come more and more to my attention that Israelis have
been starting to annoying me quite a bit. Okay I'll admit its not all of them, just the pushy ones. There is something in these people that keeps them from having any patience whats so ever. Like on Yom Ha'atzmaut (Independence Day) I went to the air force museum with my boyfriend and his family, when we got there, there was something like 1,000 people waiting in line to get tickets. So we joined the line at the back like good Americans. After about 20 minutes of the line not moving we realized that more people were always coming but for some reason the line never got any longer, nor did it get any shorter. Curious I know right? Well it appears that the people coming in saw the line and instead of waiting at the back like you are supposed to, they would just stand on the sides of the front of the line and wait until there was an opening and just slide into the line like they had been there the whole time.

Alright I know that living in the middle east is hard, but come on! Its the air force museum, you'd think there was free food or something. But I've found that any place that doesn't have a system for accepting people in a line like at the post office or banks, they are just pushy. Nearly every time I've been waiting for a bus, I'll be at the stop early, the bus will come and I swear these people pop out of the ground. Suddenly there is a line and no matter where I am in the line there will be someone pushing to get in front of me. It is a little difficult to come to terms with this, but I have realized that to push is the only way to move forward in this country so I have begun to push back. I don't like it but if you push me, I'll push you back. Maybe one day people here will learn manners. Until then I'll be pushing.

Castle S04e21

I don't write a blog about TV shows, so I very rarely have something to say about television shows. But last night on Castle I was so frustrated!
I'm not sure how many people watch this show, but I have been waiting for the past 4 seasons for their relationship to move somewhere and last night it just took a major step back. I know that a lot of shows do this to keep people watching because if they were to get together be happy and all is well in the world then there would be no more drama and the show would become boring. I just want the network to throw all the viewers a bone and just I don't know GET THEM TOGETHER!?

That is all. For all you who watched I hope you enjoyed it, if you haven't be sure to catch it Monday nights on ABC :)

The difference between charity and kindness

This week I was at a lecture where we discussed what is the difference between charity and kindness. Mos people couldn't come up with a difference but there were a few who attempted to tell is what it was. For most people they say charity as things like giving some one money, while some thing like holding the door fir someone is considered kindness.

The definition that the lecturer gave was one that I have never thought of before. She defined charity as doing something for someone in need while kindness is doing something for someone even if they are not. When you think about it this is awhole very great way to put it, why do you give money to charity? Because someone needs it more than you do, and why do you hold the door for someone who is fully capable of opening it themselves? Because it is a good thing to do and it makes you feel good about yourself.

Until now all is well in the world, but one girl asked what if you do things for other people all the time and they don't acknowledge that you do these things? Should you continue to do these nice things or is there a limit? The answer the lecturer gave was that no one should ever be left to feel like a doormat.  I agree with this, there are too many people in the world who are only looking out for number one. In my high school one of my teachers used to have a sign behind her desk that said, "I am number 2" when asked by students why she was number two she would respond with a simple, "because you are number one." Can you imagine what the world would be like if everyone cared about everyone else. On that final note I suggest you check out the song "if everyone cared" by nickleback and take a few minutes to watch the video that was made to this song in reaction to the shooting at Virginia tech.

Life is Wild

Back in 2008 the CW came out with a show with a brilliant title.

This title is just so true to life itself that I find myself thinking, "Life is wild" all the time. This thought came to mind a few nights ago when a friend of mine who was so sure that she and her boyfriend were going to be getting engaged by the summer and that life was amazing suddenly broke up.  We seem to find ourselves taking too much in our lives for granted, and never stop to appreciate the things that we have because we never know where life is going to take us.

Life is like a roller coaster there are always going to be ups and downs and if we don't accept them it will only make getting where we're going much harder. This is the hardest part of life, accepting that things happen for a reason, life is wild and we shouldn't be too focused on the bad that is happening now but rather try to figure out where we can go from here and make the best of the situation.

Once Upon a Time - Poor choice in actress

Sunday night there was a new Once Upon a Time.  This episode was a very interesting twist in the story, we finally find out what it is exactly that Snow White did to upset the queen. But there was a small technical detail that I just couldn't get over in this episode. It was the casting director's choice for who should play snow white as a little girl.  I understand the choice that was made, this actress has an astounding resemblance to the character of Mary Margret played by Ginnifer Goodwin but I'm sorry to say her acting was just terrible.  And I think that compramizing on the girls acting just because she looked like she could be a younger Ginnifer Goodwin is not reason enough to put an actress like that in.

I do not normally make such reviews about episodes of TV shows, or really make any reviews whats so ever but this was something that was bothering me and I felt if no one else was going to say anything, and from what I've seen no one has I'm just going to put it out there.

Long Days

I have never really noticed how long the days are. Currently I have a few weeks off of school and after doing a lot of eerands yesterday find that there really is not so much to do today. I have already mopped, cleaned the bathroom and took all the bottles to be recycled caught up on my TV shows from the past week and listened to a few hours of radio.

That sounded like a lot, and yet its only 3 in the afternoon. Perhaps I should blog about how much the Israeli radio station Galgalatz frustrates me. This semester I am taking an introductory course in radio and from what I've seen so far that is really all you need to run a station. Recently I discovered that galgalatz is run by the army so the people we hear there are trained to be on the radio as their army service.

All is well in the world except I feel that these people are not trained enough to be on the radio. Listen to me a mere 3 weeks in a intro to radio course and suddenly I'm a pro. It bothers me to no end that when the host gets on the microphone to talk between songs she doesn't just lower the volume on the track like she is supposed to, she turns it off completly! whats the big deal you might be thinking, so she just turns off the song. NO that is wrong, she doesn't just turn off the song, she is talking over it. When she takes a break to breathe she then proceedes to turn the track back up full volume blasting you with music that shouldn't be so loud. At one point I was considering calling them up just to tell her to stop doing it, but figured its not worth the hassle so I turned it off and turned on my country radio instead. Gosh I love the internet. :)
